  • Our History | cbedg

Our History The institution was founded as Escuela Maternal Elisita, a non-profit organization in 1987 in a place located at Carrera 12 No. 12-54, formed by a group of twelve students under the care of experts such as doctors, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists and preschool educators. It was created and started working in the city of Santa Marta, in order to provide working mothers with education and care for their children; therefore, the operation of the school depended on their work schedule. Taking into account that the Nursery School levels correspond to non-formal education and due to the wide coverage of the preschool level (Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Transition), and the Primary Basic level (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th), which belongs to formal education, it was necessary to change its name to Elisita Nursery School, which was approved by Resolution 176 of August 8, 1996. Years later the nursery school operates in its own building located in Barrio Bavaria 26 A Street No. 8-56; carrying out the foundations, objectives and purposes of the General Law of Education; complying fairly and harmoniously with the precepts issued by the MEN about forming people in accordance with the neo millennial demands that our society needs. Currently, according to the demands of today's society and as a result of the EFQM Quality certification process, initiated in 2010, the educational institution proposed changes and innovations approved by the Board of Directors of the same, expanding school coverage; Implementing Secondary Basic Education; starting in 2012 with the sixth and seventh grades; and consequently, the modification of the corporate name, shield and anthem of the school. Adopting the name of COLEGIO BILINGUAL ELISA DIAZGRANADOS SAS, starting in 2012.

  • Learning Methodology | cbedg

Learning methodology The Elisa DiazGranados SAS Bilingual School is based on the Play-Work methodology at the preschool level, promoting socialization and the recognition of each of the student's abilities through playful-creative activities that encourage psychomotor development. In primary, secondary and high school, the constructivist pedagogical model is developed in which, taking into account the students' prior knowledge, the teacher guides the students, leading them to construct new and significant knowledge, being the main actors of their own learning. The pedagogical models adopted by the educational institution are geared toward play-work, used in preschool, and constructivism in primary, secondary, and middle education, while being flexible to the needs, interests, and expectations of students and parents. Likewise, it is complemented by the approach to Understanding, embedded in planning and pedagogical work, applied at all levels of the institution. It consists of a generative topic, guiding threads, understanding goals, and tasks (exploration, guided research, and synthesis analysis). Within the pedagogical model for socialization, pedagogical strategies such as Tic Tac Toe, Role, Raft, and Menu, among others, and thinking routines have been implemented. The motivational aspect uses reading and analyzing images and videos, setting authentic prompts, problem-solving, and using digital resources with a platform, in addition to formative assessments.
